Biographies.

  • John is a UK qualified lawyer who started his career in 1989 at the London law firm of Freshfields and then joined Union Bank of Switzerland (now UBS) in 1994 to form a specialist legal team dedicated to serving the bank’s various derivative and structuring desks. In 1998 he moved to a front office function to head up an effort to promote the use of equity derivative applications to corporate clients. Following the merger of UBS with SBC in 1999, he made the decision to leave the bank to set up a financial services group based around a bank in Vienna (Euram Bank AG) in which he ran its structuring and consultancy business. In 2006, he joined Prime Capital AG, a German asset management company that specialised in alternative investments for institutional investors. He became a senior member of the firm’s management board, headed its London branch and ran the Legal and Structuring team.

He was responsible for the development of a securitisation and platform business, as well as diversification of the firm's coverage to real assets, including commercial inventory, which ultimately begot an inventory management business for the firm. He led the management buy-out of that business to create Procura in late 2018 where his focus is upon business development, technical oversight, product marketing and execution.

  • Rajan Puri is a financial services professional with more than 25 years of experience as a qualified accountant, controller, derivatives market-maker and structurer of investment products and platforms. He started his career with Coopers & Lybrand in London in 1989 before joining Swiss Bank Corporation (SBC) in 1994 within the European equity derivatives business and subsequently focused on trading UK single name and index derivatives.

He left the bank in 2000 with several colleagues (including John Staddon) to join a start-up financial services group based in London, Vienna and New York where he was responsible for structuring and risk-managing investment products linked to alternative asset classes for high net worth clients in Europe and the US. In late 2006 he joined Prime Capital AG, a German asset manager specialising in alternative investment products and platform solutions, primarily for European institutional investors.

He played a key role in developing the firm’s execution capabilities in the inventory management business before leaving in September 2018 with a number of colleagues to co-found Procura Inventory Management. Raj has a BA (Hons) from Oxford University, England.

In 2003 he joined Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (formerly Wasserstein Perella), where he ultimately became a Managing Director and ran Structured Capital Markets in North America. In 2015 Nick moved to MUFG as a Managing Director where he implemented solutions including structured credit, structured debt, receivable purchases, preferred stock investments and M&A financings. Nick joined Procura Inventory Management as part of the initial team in 2018.
